Golani Brigade 3-Medal Set Specifications: Metal and Finish:14k Gold, Proof, Diameter:50mm, Weight: 17g, Maximum Mintage: 499 Metal and Finish: Silver/925, Proof, Diameter: 38.7mm, Weight: 29g, Maximum Mintage: 1,500 Metal: Bronze, Diameter: 70mm, Weight: 49g The Golani Brigade is the best and oldest brigade in the Israel Defense Force. It was formed in 1948, when the State of Israel was established. Golani fighters have taken part in all the wars of Israel and in nearly all operations all over Israel, from the Golan Heights in the north to Eilat in the south. In the 1967 Six Day War, Golani troops fought in the Jordan/Syria sector, in the 1973 Yom Kippur War, they blocked the way to the Syrians on the Golan Heights and recaptured the Mt. Hermon outpost from them. In the current Intifada, Golani soldiers form a protective wall all over the country. The Golani Brigade is known for its friendly and family-like set up as well as for its fine fighting spirit and capabilities of coping with its military operations that demand perfect physical fitness. The Brigade’s emblems and colors bear witness of its profound connection with Israel – its earth-colored beret, the olive tree on its badge, green of the Galilee and yellow of the desert on its flag. Druze 3-Medal Set - Gold, Silver, Bronze The Druze origins may be traced back over a thousand years, when the community became known for its way of life and philosophy. Characteristics of the Druze community are its religion, patriarchal structure, strong sense of community and social values – modesty, honesty, courage, hospitality and ideal of tilling the land. In Israel, there are about 100,000 Druzes today, who identify themselves with the destiny of Israel. Ties between Israel and the Druze Community have grown during Israel’s troublesome times. The Haganah was assisted by the Druzes. With the establishment of the State of Israel, many Druzes were recruited to the Israel Defense Forces. While most of the Druzes in Israel live in villages in the Galilee, they are employed mainly in security. Many other Druze people, however, are prominent in the public service sector, industry, transport and agriculture. 14k Gold, Diameter: 30.5mm, Weight: 17g, Max Quantity: 249 Silver/935, Diameter: 37mm, Weight: 26g, Max Quantity:600 Bronze, Diameter: 70mm, Weight: 140g |
